Great Dinner at Monk McQueen's in False Creek

On friday evening AUG 24 2007 we had a great dinner at Monk McQueen's. Reservations are not accepted on the lower level, but that was OK as the two of us still got a superb outdoor patio table with an amazing view of the False Creek and the City of Vancouver. We had the vallet park our car for $6 and that was well worth it because there is no easy street parking near the restaurant. We started with Calamari which was really good. I had the Paellea and it was not only very tasty, but the portion was huge, and it included very nice shrimps, muscles, clams, scallops and salmon and halibut. What a feast! My sweetheart had the Ahi tuna which she said was also superb. The portion was adequate and presentation was very nice. For desert we shared the creme brulet. The service was very good from both our waitress and the water boys, and I'd very much recommend Monk's as a superb restaurant to take that special person to while in Vancouver. Total tab came to $100, but that's to be expected for this calliber of dining establishment. Two thumbs up.
