Customer Service Select - Future Shop eager to sell.. not so eager to refund

Last week I went to Future Shop on Broadway here in Vancouver looking for a new wireless mouse. The salesman who helped me, told me the particular unit that was on sale did not have a base station to clutter my desk, but instead used the new wireless USB transmitter. So I purchased the unit and brought it home. Once home I found that the unit DID have a base station and did NOT use the USB wireless transmitter, thus the salesman did not know what he was talking about. He was only keen to make the sale.

So I took the unit back this past Saturday. Had to park my car, feed the parking meter and then go to the store only to find 20 people in line at the returns desk! So to hell with that. I left.

Went back yet again this morning to return the item, and there were only three people ahead of me, but it still took a 20 minute wait in the line. It is really, really frustrating the way FutureShop's sales people are so keen to make a sale, that they give customers wrong information, and then end up wasting customer's valuable time by making them wait ages for a refund.

In future, I shall first look at London Drugs instead of Future Shop. As London Drugs staff are a lot more knowledgeable that FutureShop staff, their prices are comparable, and they don't make their customers wait for ages to return goods. Shame on FutureShop!
