Shame on Home Depot MESA. AZ

I recently had to go to Pheonix for a few days photo shoot. The night we arrived I bought two sets of knee and elbow pads for myself and the other photographer at the Home Depot next to the Holiday Inn on Country Club Road in Mesa. The cost of the pads for the two of us was about $30. It so happens that we did not require the pads, so the night before we left Pheonix we took the pads back to the Home Depot along with the credit card receipt to return the unused items.

It seems we entered the store just as they were closing and the returns desk had already closed their tills. When I explained I was leaving town at 0600 am the following morning, there was no accomodation whatsoever. They could not / would not process my refund.

So I left the goods on the counter and told the poor attitude employee to keep the goods for themselves and put the $30 in their own pocket when they come back to work.

This is the most horrendous customer service I have experienced in a long time, but Home Depot all around has terrible customer service. I shall now avoid this poorly staffed chain. And may they go bust! They deserve it. Instead, I suggest you support your local hardware store where the service is a lot better than Home Depot!
